Books are awe-inspiring. Every generation creates its own space to nurture creativity, and books feed our thirst for knowledge and creative yearning.
Once a book is written, it is published and distributed into the market awaiting its target audience because every reader cannot be a realistic audience for a book. None of us have read all books published. Reading of a book is dictated by the reader's interest and personal choice. Over the years the two worlds of the writer and the reader has changed immensely.
Nowadays, we see several forms of publishing— traditional publishing, self-publishing, educational publishing, academic publishing, trade publishing, hybrid/independent publishing, university presses, vanity presses, electronic book publishing and others to quench our thirst of reading and entertainment. Moreover, publishing encompasses more than books and includes sources like journals, magazines, blogs, diaries, essays, research papers etc.
Aside, these days, we are also witnessing colossal creative content on various media platforms fashioning a buzz to quench our inquisitiveness.
I am talking about publishing because I am an editor and a translator, and I work with written words.
