Creativity stretches beyond borders as every generation seeks to create its own space to nurture artistry and strives to give it a permanent representation in whichever form it desires - either in written words, through voice, via a performance or defines it with colours on a canvas.
Imagine a world void of writing.
A world simply surrounded by sound. A world outside the sophisticated and delicate world of writing, this would be a very difficult world to live in my view.
Writing, a creative process has imprinted language on various mediums over centuries from cave paintings to clay tablets, to papyrus, to cloth, to modern day paper.
Interestingly it corresponds to the spoken language it represents, and uses a script to engrave an idea. A script can denote writing, as well as calligraphy, handwriting, cursive, shorthand etc.
It is compelling to note that different languages of the world are represented by different scripts.
It is written in Devnagari script and characterised by its left-to-right writing direction and the use of vowel diacritics.
